The second coming of Jesus Christ need not take you by surprise. Don't allow anyone to tell you that they know when Jesus is going to return. No one know, not the angels, nor even Jesus Himself, but only God the Father. As in the days of Noah so shall the coming of the Son of Man be - people will be eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, and then Jesus will return. Life will be going on as usual. However, we are to watch, to be ready. We are to be looking for His return. He will come as a thief in the night. He will catch many people off guard - don't be one of them.
