Graduation Banquet
Kudos’ to whom kudos’ are due. We held another graduation banquet last night honoring five of our graduates from Timberlake High school (Tyler, Jessica, Kyle, Jamie, and Tamara). Kelly Thiel is to be commended for a wonderful job on the Parmesan chicken, salad, green beans, and rolls – makes you hungry doesn’t it. The young people (under classmates) were the servers. A very good looking and fine group of teenagers. They did a fantastic job with serving. Thank you all so much. Chris Rogne, our former music leader was invited to bring his worship band from Real Life, Spokane Valley. They led us in worship – more than just outstanding, it was God glorifying! Chris was also the evening speaker. He spoke some on attitude, and then spoke on being completely sold out to God; giving God your whole life. It was a powerful message for today’s graduates. I also believe that my wife, Debbie, and Carla, as well as the entire youth leadership team needs to be thanked. Each one of you performed well, and the Lord Himself is very pleased with what you accomplished. Keep loving on those kids. I recently read, "God will hide from you much of the fruit he causes in your ministry. You will see enough to be assured of his blessing, but not so much as to think you could live without it." (Dr. Harold John Ockenga). Attached in the photo gallery are some pictures from the night. Enjoy them.

Repaint, Repaint, Repaint
The story is told of a church that needed to paint its building. The pastor called around and got a good sized work crew together. They chose a color to paint the building and then they all started to paint. However, soon it was discovered that there was more building than paint. Someone suggested that they mix the paint with thinner, and that is what they did. By late in the afternoon they were all finished painting the building. It look wonderful, that is, until a quick storm moved in. It started to sprinkle, and then came a massive downpour. The paint on the church began to run off the walls and onto the ground. After the storm passed the people gathered around the pastor and asked, "What are we going to do?" To which the pastor replied, "Repaint, repaint, repaint and thin no more."
Resolutions for Life
# 1 Resolved, that I
will do whatsoever I think to be most to God’s glory and to my own good,
profit, and pleasure, in the whole of my duration, without any
consideration of the time, whether now or never so many myriads of ages
hence. Resolved to do whatever I think to be my duty, and most for the
good and advantage of mankind in general. Resolved to do this, whatever
difficulties I meet with, how ever so many and how ever so great. # 5 Resolved, never to lose one moment of time; but improve it the most profitable way I possibly can.
You and I may not be as eloquent in writing out resolutions, but it is something we might give a try. Here is one that I came up with today:
# 1 See people through the eyes of God and not through my own sinful eyes.
Resolutions are truly something to think about. If you enjoyed this you might get yourself a copy of: Jonathan Edwards’ Resolutions. See the information on the sidebar about books.

12 Practical Pointers for Positive Father Power
I am involved with a study entitled: Tender Warrior, and one of the assignments was to write out a brief plan for carrying out "practical pointers for positive father power." What a great little assignment. I took it to heart and came up with the following plan. Gentlemen, I own it, but you are welcome to borrow it. It’s my plan, but tweak it as you see fit for your own situation in life. One of the suggestions is to write out one or two specifics for each of these main points. I would love to see what you develop. Shoot me of a response. Go ahead and be a man!
- Be a man of prayer (Jer. 33:3).
- Talk much about our great God (Psa. 95:3).
- Never do something you wouldn’t want your children to
do. - Attend Church faithfully (Heb. 10:24-25).
- Be a giver – enjoy giving freely (I Cor. 8-9).
- Love your wife affectionately and openly before your
children (Eph. 5:22-33). - Serve actively with purpose (Mark 10:45).
- Never put off what needs to be done now.
- Be someone’s Paul – mentor younger people (II Tim.
2:2). - Trust God with
the impossible (Luke 1:37). - Buy up the
opportunities to hug your children (Deut. 6:4-9). - Treat people
the way you want them to treat you (Matt. 7:12).
